Cellulose Acetate (CA) Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are Hydrophilic and are good for filtering aqueous and alcoholic media, hot liquids, and gases. It offers high flow rates and thermal stability and low absorption. High physical strength for high viscosity filtration and separation.  They are good for aqueous protein solutions and for their low protein binding. It’s a hydrophilic filter, it’s nitrate free and offers uniform pore size structure. This membrane integrity remains whole during sterilization and is safe for autoclaving.

Glass Fiber Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are commonly used as pre filters in many filtration devices. Also, for filtration of viscous or hard-to-filter samples with high solids content. Specialized glass membranes are used for DNA recovery and clean-up.

MCE Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are Hydrophilic and are ideal for aqueous samples filtration that need higher flow rates and larger volume, including clarification or sterilization of aqueous solutions, particulate analysis and removal, air monitoring, microbial analysis, cytology, HPLC samples prep/clean up, virus concentration, biological assays, food microbiology (enumeration of E. coli in foods), bacteriological studies.

Nylon Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are Hydrophilic and are commonly used for aqueous or mixed organic sample prep and HPLC, GC or dissolution sample analysis, such as bases, most HPLC solvents, alcohols, aromatic hydrocarbons, and THF. Not for strong acids, strong bases, and high protein recovery. Excellent flow rates with most sample matrices and extremely low in extractables

PES Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are Hydrophilic and are excellent for tissue culture, media, and buffers due to very low protein and nucleic acid binding and excellent flow rates. The PES membrane shows better chemical resistance than cellulose acetate. It is widely used in clinical/toxicology, ion chromatography, ICP-MS, AAS, and capillary electrophoresis for strong bases, alcohols, proteins, peptides.

Polypropylene (PP) Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are Hydrophobic and are designed for aqueous or organic solutions that have high levels of debris and difficult-to-filter solutions. It has a wide range of chemical compatibility with organic solvents. It’s versatile and cost effective with a long list of chemical resistances, for example acids, bases, alcohols, and esters. It's highly solvent resistant and a low non-specific adsorbing material, which gives a max protein recovery for critical analysis.

Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Syringe Filters:

These syringe filters are Hydrophilic and are ideal for HPLC and GC sample prep/clean up and protein-based samples. Typically has broad chemical compatibility, a low protein binder, and low UV adsorbing extractables. It can be used for alcohols, peptides, weak acids, proteins, and other biomolecules for high protein recovery.

PTFE Syringe Filters (Hydrophilic):

These syringe filters are Hydrophilic and are ideal for organic solvent-based, acidic, or basic samples. They can be used with all solvents, such as aggressive solvents, strong acids and bases, alcohols, and aromatics. Chemically resistant to all solvents and has excellent thermal stability to high temperature fluids.

PTFE Syringe Filters (Hydrophobic):

These syringe filters are Hydrophobic and are ideal for organic solvent-based, acidic, or basic samples. They can be used with all solvents, such as aggressive solvents, strong acids and bases, alcohols, and aromatics. Chemically resistant to all solvents and has excellent thermal stability to high temperature fluids. It can be used with aqueous samples after pre-wetting with a small amount of alcohol and then flushing with water.
